A light installation marking the Islamic Revolution Day was shown to residents of the Iranian capital, the Mehr news agency reported on February 10.
The Azadi Towers in western Tehran were illuminated with flowers to mark the 45th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
Let us remember that the Islamic Revolution in Iran occurred on February 11, 1979. According to the Iranian calendar, this is the 22nd day of the month of Bahman.
Please note that the Azadi Tower is the main symbol of the capital of Iran. It is also called the “Gate of Tehran” as the Azadi Tower is the first thing people see when arriving in Tehran via Mehrabad International Airport.
The Azadi Tower was erected on the occasion of the 2,500th anniversary of the creation of the Persian State in 1971. It was initially called the Tower of Memory of the Shah. After the Islamic Revolution, it was renamed Azadi Tower, which means Freedom Tower in Persian.
