Olaf Scholz’s government on Tuesday unveiled measures to combat the far right in Germany, making it harder for them to finance and access weapons, after revealing a secret meeting that planned to expel foreigners from the country.
Welcoming the recent mobilization of “hundreds of thousands of citizens” against extremists and racism – after the meeting was reported in January – Interior Secretary Nancy Feiser detailed thirteen measures to combat what she considers “the greatest threat to democratic order.” .
“We want to destroy these far-right networks. We want to deprive them of income, we want to take away their weapons,” Faezer said at a press conference in Berlin.
