Four Portuguese men from Rabo de Peixe, Azores, have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a one-year-old child in Pawtucket, United States. Carolina Ledo, 22, Karla Souza, 32, Daniela Ledo, 25, and Joao Rezende, also 25, all lived in the same house where the crime occurred.
Carolina Ledo, Daniela’s sister, is the mother of little Santiago, 17 months, found dead this Saturday. Caroline also has an older daughter, five years old.
According to local press reports, the arrest of four Portuguese men occurred after the baby was found to have significant burns on his face. Santiago died in hospital.
A page was created to raise funds for the boy’s funeral.
The three women were charged with child neglect, and João Resende was charged with negligent homicide, child abuse and child neglect.
