Two of the three people arrested in Wednesday’s shooting during celebrations of the Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs are young, and more than half the victims are minors, international press reports indicate. Three people were detained immediately after the shots were fired.
According to CBS News, Police are continuing to investigate to determine the possible involvement of other shooters and say there is no indication the incident was motivated by terrorism or extremism.
Preliminary findings indicate that the shooting started over a dispute between several spectators. Local police seized several weapons.
As a result of the incident, a 43-year-old woman who worked at a local radio station was killed. At least 22 more people were injured, eight of whom were believed to be in critical condition.
The shooting happened in the parking lot of Union Station, Kansas City’s central train station, and created chaos during the celebration. The images show several people running from one side to the other, while other wounded people are being carried on stretchers.
