There will be no war between NATO and Russia, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated on February 16 in an interview with the Süddeutsche Zeitung (SZ) newspaper.
“We support Ukraine because it also increases our security. At the same time, we will not allow a war to break out between NATO and Russia.” – said the politician.
Scholz noted that Germany closely coordinates its actions with its allies, primarily the United States. And the vast majority of Germans understand that in the long term Germany will be forced to spend more money on defense.
“The goal is clear: we want the Bundeswehr and NATO to be as strong as possible. “We want to be so strong that no one attacks us.” – continued the politician.
“And we must – completely independent of the US elections – significantly strengthen the European pillar of NATO.””, stressed the German Chancellor.
