
A tense epidemiological situation persists in the Altai Republic, Gorny Altai News reported on February 17.
The epidemiological situation in the republic leaves much to be desired due to the incidence of ARVI and influenza in the region.
Over the past week, from February 10 to 16, hospitals in the Altai Republic received 1,420 calls for ARVI and influenza. 961 children became ill.
11 people were hospitalized with ARVI symptoms. The laboratory confirmed 57 cases of influenza, including 37 children under 14 years of age. There is also circulation of coronaviruses and adenoviruses.
Over the course of the week, an increase was recorded in the Kosh-Agach, Ust-Koksinsky, Ulagansky, Ongudaysky districts and in Gorno-Altaisk, the republican department of Rospotrebnadzor reported.
Due to the unfavorable epidemic situation among students, the educational process was completely suspended in five schools and partially suspended in 11 schools. Nine cases of whooping cough were reported in the region this week.
