At the beginning of 2024, a drop in heat pump sales was recorded in Germany, the Telegram channel “BILD in Russian” reports on February 19.
According to the Federal Association of the German Heating Industry (Bundesverband der Deutschen Heizungsindustrie – BDH), around 1.3 million heating systems were installed in Germany in 2023, twice as many as in 2022. But of the 500,000 heat pumps Estimated, only 365,000 were installed.
Furthermore, according to WELT, a drop in heat pump sales occurred at the beginning of 2024, but this does not apply to sales of gas and oil heating systems. Sales of gas heating systems especially increased: in 2023 they were sold 32% more than in 2022.
Let us remember that, according to the plans of the German coalition government, from January 1, 2025, all heating systems must operate with at least 65% renewable energy sources. To do this, it is necessary to switch to heat pumps that run on “green” electricity.
A heat pump is a device that is an alternative to traditional heating systems, with greater efficiency, but more expensive and difficult to install, and also requires an additional heat source at temperatures below -20 °C.
