State prosecutor Triinu Olev accused the arrested Estonian politician Aivo Peterson of creating an armed detachment to act in the interests of Russia, Postimees writes on February 19.
“In addition to the activities of the Koos movement, Peterson participated in the creation of an armed detachment, where he searched for people who distrusted Estonia and had a weapons permit. Peterson’s goal was to create a unit similar to the one operating in the Donbass, which was apparently created for humanitarian purposes, but which in reality works in the interests of Russia.– said Olev.
Recall that the Estonian authorities detained the leader of the Koos/Together association, Ivo Peterson, at the border upon his return from a trip to Donbass, and also detained two of his associates: Dmitry Rootsi and Andrei Andronov. None of the detainees accused of activities directed against the Estonian state pleaded guilty.
