In cases where there are deceased people on the list of signatories, it is necessary to punish, said Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Nikolai Bulaev on February 19 at a meeting with senators of the Federation Council .
“The presence of the deceased as a signer of the sheet should discredit all signature sheets. This should be the law. In my opinion, this would be correct. If you cross the border, the border guard can punish you. Therefore, he “crossed the border”; the legislator should severely punish him for this.”– said Bulaev.
It should be noted that among those who signed for Boris Nadezhdin, nominated by the non-parliamentary party “Civic Initiative”, 11 were found dead.
In total, Nadezhdin submitted 105 thousand signatures to the CEC, of which 9,147 (15.2%) were declared invalid, including 11 belonging to the deceased. Acceptable defects in signatures are 5%.
“If anyone sees dead souls on my subscription lists, well, friends, these aren’t really questions for me. It’s more like going to church, to see an exorcist.”– said Nadezhdin.
After the refusal to register, Boris Nadezhdin filed three lawsuits with the Supreme Court, two of the lawsuits were rejected and the third will be considered on February 21.
Let us remember that signatures for the presidential nomination must be collected by candidates running for elections from parties not represented in parliament (each requires at least 100 thousand signatures) and self-proclaimed candidates (at least 300 thousand, respectively).
