SKA St. Petersburg lost with a big score to Cherepovets Severstal in the KHL regular championship match, which took place on February 20 on the ice of the SKA Arena in St. Petersburg.
The hero of the match was Severstal forward Nikita Korostelev, who scored a double (goals in the 38th and 51st minutes). In the 58th minute, a goal by Adam Liszka into an empty net ended the match.
Severstal’s Russian goalkeeper, Alexander Samoilov, had 21 shots on goal and contributed significantly to the steelmakers’ victory.
The final score is 0-3, victory for Severstal (80 points), which is in fifth place in the KHL Western Conference. SKA (93 points) remains the leader in the Western Conference, but Dynamo Moscow (92 points), which occupies second place, has one game less to take the lead from SKA.
