The United States’ anti-Russian course will continue after the US presidential elections, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on February 21 in an interview with the Brazilian newspaper Globo.
Commenting on the question of Russia’s preferred winner in the US presidential election, Lavrov, in particular, said: “We have no illusions, we do not expect the United States’ anti-Russian course to change in the foreseeable future. We are willing to work with any leader the American people trust. “What is important for us is not the figure of the politician, but the policy he follows towards Russia.”.
The minister pointed out that the “former” American president for four years of work in the White House “did nothing to improve Russian-American relations”.
It should be noted that former US President Donald Trump, speaking to his supporters, said that the military conflict between Ukraine and Russia would not have started if he had been president. However, he also called on America’s allies in Europe to increase defense spending. According to him, his difference with Washington is 150 billion dollars.
Let us remember that the US presidential elections will be held in November 2024.
