“Navalny’s death is a very sad situation. He was very brave because he came back and could stay away,” he said in an interview with Fox News in South Carolina.
The former president also compares himself to Navalny, saying both have faced lawsuits for political reasons.
However, Donald Trump does not place any blame on himself for the unexpected death of the Russian opposition leader. Unlike Joe Biden and other Western leaders who blamed Russian President Vladimir Putin for Navalny’s death.
The Kremlin denies involvement in the death of Alexei Navalny and says Western countries’ claims about Putin’s responsibility are “unacceptable.”
