Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus reached the quarter-finals of the Asian Champions League with Al Hilal today, beating Iran’s Sepahan and his compatriot Jose Morais 3-1.
After his triumph on Iranian soil, in the first leg of the round of 16, Al Hilal repeated the same result in Saudi Arabia, scoring goals from Al Dawasari in the 76th minute, Portugal international Ruben Neves in the 82nd minute and the Serbian striker. Mitrovic, 90+7.
Sepahan, the Iranian champions, still had some hope when Ahmadzadeh reduced the match’s deficit in the 54th minute, but Yazdani’s sending off in the 71st minute put Jose Morais’ side’s goal in jeopardy.
Al Hilal is the current holder of the title of “Champions of Asia”.
