This Thursday, Sporting confirmed their qualification for the round of 16 of the Europa League with a 1-1 draw with Young Boys in the second leg of the playoffs, which took place at the José Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon.
Following a 3-1 win in Bern last week, Victor Dieukeres extended the Lions’ lead in the 13th minute and also missed a penalty in the 57th minute before Silver Ganvoula equalized in the 13th minute. 84, through the maximum penalty.
The Lions secured their place in the last 16 of the Europa League for the fifth time after the 2009/10, 2011/12, 2017/18 and 2022/23 seasons. The draw for the next stage of the competition is scheduled for Friday in Nyon, Switzerland.
