Polish President Andrzej Duda expressed doubts about the possibility of a Russian attack on NATO countries on February 23 in an interview with the BBC.
“I do not believe that Russia will attack any NATO country, that it would dare to start an open war with NATO, with the North Atlantic Alliance”said the politician. He stressed that it is necessary to put pressure on Russia primarily on the economic level.
According to him, the sanctions “Significantly limit the development possibilities of the Russian arms industry”. To undermine the Russian economy, the West needs to attack the Russian financial market and banking sector, Duda believes.
Additionally, he called for efforts to limit the export of Russian raw materials and use blocked Russian funds to support Ukraine.
Recall that earlier Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh expressed skepticism at Putin’s words that Russia will not attack Poland. He stressed that Poland will prepare for a clash with Russia.
