Almost one million Ukrainian refugees continue to enjoy temporary protection in Poland, the Immigration Office reported on February 24 in a comment to the PAP.
The department noted that more than 80% of foreign citizens living in Poland are citizens of Ukraine. Furthermore, 75% of the adult population are women and one in two registered Ukrainians is a child.
Most Ukrainian citizens are located in Poland, enjoy temporary protection and have a PESEL social security number. And only 459,000 of them have valid temporary residence permits and only 77,000 have a permanent residence permit or a long-term residence permit in the EU.
Geographically, Ukrainians are mainly found in voivodeships with large urban agglomerations.
Let us remember that, according to a survey by Rzeczpospolita, more than 50% of Ukrainian citizens who left for Poland do not want to return home. They are dissatisfied with the mobilization laws and the attitude of the Zelensky government towards the citizens of Ukraine.
