Today is the birthday of two districts of Sevastopol: Leninsky and Nakhimovsky. They turned 86 years old. This was recalled by the governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, on February 25 on his Telegram channel.
“On February 25, 1938, three administrative units appeared: Central, Northern and Barcos districts”wrote Razvozhaev.
He noted that in 1954 Severny was renamed Nakhimovsky and in 1957 the Korabelny district was annexed to it.
“The Leninsky district is the very heart of Sevastopol. It is here that the main symbols of the Hero City are located: the Count’s Pier, the monument to the sunken ships and, of course, Nakhimov Square, the main square where history was made, where the “Russian Spring” began in 2014 “writes Razvozhaev.
In his opinion, the Nakhimovsky district is the personification of the Sevastopol chronicle.
“Each stone of the Malakhov Kurgan preserves the history of the city. The Apollo Beam docks are one of our artists’ favorite places. And the Catherine Mile on the northern side witnesses the journey of the Empress from St. Petersburg to the Crimea.”said the governor.
He stressed that the main wealth is people.
“I wish the inhabitants of the Leninsky and Nakhimovsky districts well-being and prosperity. Happy Holidays!” — the governor congratulated the townspeople.
