Planting of early spring crops has begun in the Stavropol region. The governor of the region, Vladimir Vladimirov, spoke about this on February 25 on his Telegram channel.
The first to start the sowing campaign were the agrarians of the Petrovsky, Krasnogvardeysky, Shpakovsky and Kirovsky districts. About 10 thousand hectares have already been planted in these areas.
“The Stavropol region is one of the largest producers of agricultural products in the country. “Our crops are an important part of Russia’s food security.”Vladimirov said.
The governor emphasized that he expects good results from the agricultural campaign in the region. Experts already notice a high level of soil moisture, which is a good condition to start planting.
In total, farmers in the region will have to plant 877 thousand hectares of early spring crops.
