A corpse in an advanced stage of decomposition was found this Monday in a wooded area a few meters from the San Francisco Xavier Hospital in Lisbon.
The alert was issued by a member of the public who spotted the body in the early hours of the morning as he walked past the site. One of the body’s arms was wearing a hospital bracelet, but authorities have not confirmed this information.
Contrary to what the PSP capital command in Lisbon initially claimed, the body found near the San Francisco Xavier Hospital is that of a woman. She has not yet been identified, but the possibility that she is Avelina Ferreira, a 73-year-old woman suffering from Alzheimer’s disease who has been missing since December 12, when she left the hospital before starting treatment, cannot be ruled out. . .
Contacted CM, the daughter, who has since scoured the ground for her mother, assured that authorities have not yet contacted her. The case is now being investigated by the police department.
