The leader of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, Tino Kruppala, called on February 26 in an interview with the radio and television company SWR to once again use cheap energy resources from Russia for the development of the German economy.
He said Germany needs to restore economic relations with the Russian Federation, which will not cease to be part of Europe.
“For the sake of our citizens, we want free and peaceful trade with the entire world, including Russia. “The Russian Federation belongs to Europe, regardless of who its president is.”“emphasized the party leader.
He advocated restoring closer relations with Russia and resuming Russian gas supplies via the surviving Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
“We have always had good economic and industrial trade with Russia and have benefited above all from cheap energy and gas, and with the help of the AfD we will return to that.”the German politician promised.
Previously, German Vice Chancellor and Economy Minister Robert Habeck noted that dependence on Russian gas has become one of the main problems of the country’s economy.
Other countries, he added, do not have as many energy-intensive facilities or do not depend on Russian gas.
