Russian President Vladimir Putin presented certificates of honor to several prominent scientists from among the members of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The corresponding decree was distributed on February 26.
The scientists were noted for their great contribution to the development of national science, many years of fruitful activity and in connection with the 300th anniversary of the founding of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The certificates were awarded to the deputy scientific director of the Russian Federal Nuclear Center – All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Experimental Physics (RFNC-VNIIEF, Sarov, Nizhny Novgorod region), corresponding member of the RAS Alexander Chernyshev. The Head of State expressed gratitude to the outstanding developer of nuclear weapons, former director of the Sarov nuclear center and now honorary scientific director of the RFNC-VNIIEF, academician Radiy Ilkaev.
