It is possible to get rid of the status of a foreign agent by rejecting handouts from foreign powers, said the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin, at a plenary session on February 27, Parlamentskaya Gazeta reports.
Volodin emphasized that such a possibility exists for anyone who wants to free themselves from the status of a foreign agent.
“It is possible to leave the status of foreign agent, rejecting the handouts and absolute domination that were imposed by the money of other countries”– he said.
Volodin recalled that foreign agents are citizens who accepted foreign financing. He explained that to exit the status of foreign agent it is necessary to reject this financing and opt for Russia.
“But you cannot slander the country with money from abroad and raise funds for advertising here””Volodin clarified.
It should be noted that on February 27, the State Duma approved in second reading a bill prohibiting advertising on information resources by foreign agents. The bill also prohibits the advertising of information resources by foreign agents.
