The reconstruction of Stereo Square in Sochi is scheduled to be completed during 2023. This was announced by the mayor of the city Alexei Kopaygorodsky on January 28 on his Telegram channel.
According to the head of the city, a discussion was held with local residents of the project for the improvement of walking areas near the State Assembly building.
Reconstruction plans include the creation of a year-round blooming garden with an area of about 1 hectare, a ring road with recreation areas, as well as parking for bicycles and modern lighting. The total landscaped area will increase by 300 m/m2.
According to Kopaygorodsky, the reconstruction will take into account the comments and wishes of local residents, as well as the historical features of the iconic place at the intersection of tourist routes.
The mayor also added that several other areas along Kurortny Prospekt are also subject to reconstruction and improvement. In the plans for the current year, declared in Sochi Year of Architecture, it is planned to improve 30 parks and squares.
