The tragic consequences of the Prigozhin rebellion were avoided thanks to the coordinated actions of the Rostov police, the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Rostov region, Lieutenant General police officer Oleg Agarkov. of the regional legislative assembly, the broadcast of which was published on the regional parliament’s website.
The entry of Wagner PMC units into Rostov-on-Don during the Prigozhin uprising in June 2023 became a serious test for the local police. Agarkov noted that he behaved with dignity.
“Thanks to the coordinated actions of the police and security forces, we managed to avoid riots. No one in our ranks flinched in the face of a moment of danger; “With this we exclude tragic consequences.”he emphasized.
Agarkov recalled that after the situation was resolved peacefully, Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked 50 police officers in the Rostov region. Five employees received state awards.
