Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov called his proposal to transfer frozen Russian assets to Ukraine erroneous and harmful to the United States itself.
“I think that (proposal to transfer Russian assets to Ukraine – approx. IA Krasnaya Vesna) “It is fundamentally wrong, because it undermines the foundations and foundations of the financial system, when the gold and foreign exchange reserves of national banks are subject to political restrictions and freezes.”said the head of the Ministry of Finance.
Siluanov emphasized that in this way Western countries would harm themselves, just as they previously harmed themselves by limiting payments in dollars. According to him, the West should look for possible solutions to the current situation and not engage in escalation.
“These decisions undermine the foundations of the global financial system that have been in place for decades.”noted the Minister of Finance.
He added that sufficient volumes of foreign investment have also been frozen in Russia and retaliatory measures can be applied to them.
