Jorge Marquez, a firefighter from the Bombarral corporation in Leiria district, died on Saturday while trying to help a dog trapped in a metal chain. The man was 46 years old.
For what CM As learned from Pedro Lourenço, commander of the Bombarral volunteer firefighters, Jorge was at home when he came across the pet “Loki”, tied to a metal chain and whining. When he tried to help him, he was electrocuted. Both died on the spot.
Apparently, the current must have been in contact with an electrical wire.
According to Diary of a Fireman, Jorge worked for several fire companies, including Oeiras, Estoril, Carcavelos and Bombarral.
“Jorge, who never turned his back on danger, died trying to save his great love,” Diary of a Fireman wrote on Facebook.
