The meeting on expanding sanctions against Russia will be held by the relevant departments of Taiwan, the island’s Ministry of Economy announced on February 28, the Taiwan News portal reported.
The meeting will take place in April. Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and security agencies of the island will participate.
Depending on the results of the meeting, the list of goods prohibited for export to Russia may be modified.
Recall that Taiwan’s blacklist regarding exports to Russia now contains around 1,900 items. However, there have recently been reports that Russian companies are still receiving the components and equipment they need from Taiwan.
On February 23, it became known that the United States had introduced new sanctions against Russia. They also affected companies in other countries, notably China, Vietnam, Germany, Cyprus, Kyrgyzstan, Liechtenstein, Ireland, the United Arab Emirates, Serbia, Turkey, Finland and Estonia.
