Former Sporting player Filipa Mandeiro died this Wednesday at the age of 36 from cancer, the club announced.
In a statement, Sporting expressed regret over the death and expressed condolences to those closest to him, thanking his “years of dedication and calling.”
Filipa Mandeiro was a member of Club Leo’s women’s football team and won the national championship and the Portuguese Cup in the 2016/2017 season when she announced her retirement.
The Union of Professional Footballers (SJPF) also mourned the death of the former footballer, a victim of cancer, who won these titles with Sporting in her final football season after representing Forte da Casa, Olivais and Moscavide Estoril . Praia, Football Benfica, Sacavenense and Olivais.
