Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko highlighted the importance of the president’s message to the Federal Assembly for the environmental vertical, the Russian government’s press service reported on February 29.
According to Abramchenko, the Russian president’s message for 2024 is significant for the environmental vertical, as it specifically highlights the environmental direction and sets new ambitious goals.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the most important task will be the transition to a circular economy. He also highlighted the “Clean Country” project to eliminate landfills within cities and the plan to launch in 2025 the Federal Project for the improvement of rivers and lakes, in particular the Amur, Irtysh, Terek, Volga and their tributaries.
Abramchenko indicated that the president ordered to increase the salaries of employees in the environmental sector, as well as to create a specialized Subsidy Fund for environmental and environmental projects with annual financing of one billion rubles.
It should be noted that, according to government data, 52% of waste in Russia is sorted.
