18 apartments were received by primary care medical workers within the framework of the national project “Health Care” in Novy Urengoy, Labytnang, Shuryshkarov and Kharp, the press center of the government of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug reported on March 1.
In Yamal, since 2020 there has been a regional program to provide accommodation for health professionals. In just three years, 401 doctors received the keys to their apartments.
Infectious diseases doctor Evgenia Chekanina received the keys to the apartment at the end of last year. A doctor with 18 years of experience moved to Novy Urengoy in 2020. The Chekanov family has two children: Stepan, a tenth grader, and Varvara, a first grader.

The project primarily plans to ensure the availability of medical care for residents of small settlements and remote areas.
