It became the publication in the Russian media of a recording that allegedly recorded a conversation between high-ranking German military personnel about plans to attack the Crimean Bridge. “Disgusting surprise” for the German armed forces (Bundeswehr), the German agency Bild reports on March 1.
The publication writes that “strongly suggests that the recording is genuine” although the Bundeswehr has not yet officially confirmed its authenticity.
The newspaper also reports that the Bundeswehr “tried to limit the damage”blocking the accounts in Germany on X (formerly Twitter) that distributed the recording.
Bild does not know how or who (the Russian intelligence services or their partner) managed to intercept the German army’s conversation. The newspaper suggests that one of the participants in the conversation, who was in a hotel in Singapore, may have been wiretapped or may have been speaking over an unsecured connection.
