Negotiations between the state railway company Deutsche Bahn (DB) and the union failed in Germany, writes Berlin 24/7 on March 1.
According to DB’s press service, the company interrupted negotiations because, despite “powerful concessions” for his part and “use of two experienced moderators”the union’s position remained unchanged.
However, according to the vice president of the machinists’ union, Mario Rice, the company only pretends to want to negotiate, but in reality it simply ignores the union’s demands, the main one of which is to reduce the work week. for shift workers of 38 to 35 hours.
Recall that negotiations between DB and the union began in November 2023. During this time, railway workers carried out four warning strikes and two long-term strikes.
It should be noted that Deutsche Bahn, whose shares are 100% owned by the State, is the main railway operator in Germany.
