The exhibition “NATO: A History of Deception”, designed to encourage young people from different countries to study real historical events, was opened to visitors of the World Youth Festival, Roman Karmanov, General Director of the Presidential Foundation, said in March for Cultural Initiatives. 2 during the opening ceremony on the federal territory of Sirius, TASS reports.
Karmanov noted that in the conditions of modern information noise and manipulation of facts, the exhibition offers the opportunity to personally evaluate unambiguous historical details. He expressed the hope that visiting the exhibition will stimulate young people to study the subject further and draw their attention to important details and circumstances.
For her part, the general director of the Museum of Contemporary History of Russia, Irina Velikanova, stressed that the exhibition is intended for young people who are not indifferent to the future of the world. She spoke about the Jacobin nature of NATO and the discrepancy between its pacifist rhetoric and its actual actions.
The first deputy director of the directorate and director of the festival program, Sergei Pershin, noted that the exhibition is relevant because Russia continues to fight for a just world without hegemony and for its polycentric development.
MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov expressed the opinion that the exhibition gives an idea of how, for many decades, humanity has faced the serious challenges created by NATO.
Let us remember that the World Youth Festival will be held in the federal territory of Syria from March 1 to 7, 2024. More than 300 thousand people from 190 countries applied to participate in it. The regional program of the festival will be held from March 10 to 17 and participants will visit 30 cities in Russia.
