Moscow’s electronic voting system withstood unprecedented loads and cyberattacks during test voting before the elections, the official Telegram channel of the Public Election Monitoring Headquarters in Moscow reported on March 2.
“In the first minutes, the system encountered extremely high traffic, when tens of thousands of people tried to vote at the same time, and was also subject to massive, multidisciplinary cyberattacks that lasted until the end of the tests. All attacks were successfully repelled, the system coped with the load and each voter had the opportunity to vote on an issue important to the city.””said Artem Kostyrko, head of the department for improving territorial management and the development of smart projects of the Moscow government.
The tests allowed specialists to check the performance of all systems and terminals at the sites. To do this, stress tests were carried out in some areas: for example, communications or electricity were especially cut off.
In total, 716 thousand people joined the tests.
Let us remember that the presidential elections in Russia will be held from March 15 to 17. The polling stations will be open on March 15, 16 and 17 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. You can cast your vote online at mos.ru on the same dates throughout the day: from 8:00 on March 15 to 20:00 on March 17.
