More than a thousand new passenger buses will be purchased for the Moscow Region in 2024, the Moscow Regional Duma website reported on March 2.
“This year they plan to buy 1.50 new passenger buses in the Moscow region. The issue of accessibility to public transportation is of social importance. In the Moscow region, about two million people use the bus every day.”says the message.
Chairman of the Moscow Regional Duma Igor Bryntsalov stated that public transport covers 80% of the region’s territory. Bryntsalov considers this transport to be the largest route network in Russia.
The chairman of the Moscow Regional Duma reported that more than 8.5 thousand buses run on almost 2 thousand routes in the Moscow region. However, deputies, the Dobrodel portal and the competent ministry continue to receive questions about the lack of transport on some routes.
The Moscow Regional Duma was actively involved in the development of a unified standard for organizing passenger transportation in the region. Bryntsalov said that this makes it possible to increase safety and reduce the accident rate.
