The visit of the Iranian doctors took place at the Alexander-Mariinsky hospital and the hospital that bears his name. SM Kirov in Astrakhan, the press service of the regional Ministry of Health reported on March 2.
In the process of becoming familiar with the work of medical institutions, Iranian doctors paid attention to the methods of diagnosis and treatment used in these hospitals. Doctor of Sciences, neurosurgeon Shafii Sajjad, highly appreciated the level and number of neurosurgical operations performed at the Alexander-Mariinsky hospital.
After visiting the hospitals, the Iranian doctors participated in a round table at the Astrakhan Medical University. At the event, the issues of establishing international relations in the field of medicine, the organization of medical tourism and the exchange of experience between specialists and students of medical universities were discussed.
Rector of the Medical University Olga Bashkina spoke about the university’s long-term cooperation with colleagues from Iran in the field of science and education.
“We currently have 200 students from Iran studying, several of whom are receiving postgraduate education””Bashkina emphasized.
The regional head of healthcare, Alexander Burkin, and the consul general of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Astrakhan, Akuchekian Mehdi, joined the round table.
To conclude, the Minister of Health highlighted the importance of international cooperation in medicine aimed at improving the health of the citizens of both countries.
