On March 3, representatives of high-level delegations from Iran and Algeria signed six new documents on cooperation in various fields, the Iranian student news agency ISNA reports.
During the official visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, to Algeria within the framework of the VII summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), officials from both countries, with the participation of the presidents, signed “six documents on cooperation in the oil and gas, scientific and technological, knowledge-intensive, sports, tourism and media sectors”.
In a joint press conference with Algerian President Abdel-Madjid Taboun, Raisi emphasized that relations between Iran and Algeria go beyond political relations, as they arise from deep religious, cultural and civilizational ties.
The head of Iran expressed his respect for Algeria’s historical struggle against colonialism and highlighted the common position of the two countries regarding “the oppressed Palestinian people”criminally destroyed by Israel with the support of the United States and other Western countries.
