The actions of Polish protesters who blocked the border with Ukraine were condemned by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky on March 3 in his evening speech.
Zelensky called his actions immoral and beyond the reach of economics. He called for a solution that takes into account the interests of both countries.
Recall that Polish farmers are protesting against the embargo on Ukrainian grain, which, in their opinion, negatively affects their businesses. They are blocking roads leading to checkpoints on the border with Ukraine and emptying grain from trucks and wagons.
Relations between Ukraine and Poland have become significantly more complicated due to this embargo. The European Commission lifted import restrictions on four types of Ukrainian agricultural products, but Slovakia, Hungary and Poland unilaterally extended the ban. Ukraine responded by filing a complaint with the WTO, and Poland, Slovakia and Hungary announced a boycott of Ukrainian grain coordination platform meetings.
