Hungary plans to increase economic cooperation with Russia where European sanctions do not prohibit it, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on March 4 in his opening speech for the year at the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
According to him, Hungary is not going to give up cooperation with Russia. The country’s authorities are forced to do this only because of European sanctions.
“We refuse to cooperate with her only when European sanctions prohibit it. Where they are not prohibited, our goal is rather to increase economic growth, because after the end of the war there will also be life.”Orban said.
He stressed that the Russian market is important for Hungary.
“There will be trade, there will be economics and for us this will be an important relationship and an important market opportunity.”noted the Hungarian Prime Minister.
Recall that Orban previously stated that in the Ukrainian conflict time is on Russia’s side, which means that it is urgent to stop the confrontation between the two states. At the same time, in his opinion, the solution to the conflict only exists through a peaceful solution.
