Vice President of the United States of America Kamala Harris spoke Sunday afternoon in Selma, Alabama, and addressed the war situation in the Gaza Strip. He called for a temporary ceasefire of four to six weeks in exchange for the release of the hostages, according to ABC News.
According to the same source, he is also asking Israel to do “more for the people of Gaza,” who are “dying from malnutrition and dehydration.”
“The Israeli government must do more to significantly increase the flow of aid. There are no excuses,” he said.
He adds that it is necessary to “open new border posts” and that “any unnecessary restrictions on the distribution of aid” should not be introduced.
“They must ensure that humanitarian personnel, facilities and convoys are not attacked, and that they work to restore essential services and ensure order in the Gaza Strip so that more food, water and fuel can be delivered to those who need it,” says Deputy President.
