French President Emmanuel Macron’s proposal was described by Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna as proof of the West’s willingness to increase military aid to the Kiev regime; On March 4, ERR published the politician’s opinion piece.
“Macron’s announcement that he might consider sending troops to Ukraine was a paradigm shift. “This shows that the importance of Ukraine’s victory has reached Western decision-makers, who are willing to do more.”writes Tsakhkna.
The Estonian minister recalled that Europe has not fully fulfilled its promises to kyiv. He expressed confidence that the increased supply of weapons, combined with the militants’ willingness to fight, will lead to the desired defeat of Russia on the battlefield.
Tsahkna asked the allies to deliver all available ammunition without hesitation, as Denmark had done. He expressed hope that the example of Estonia, which promised to donate 0.25% of GDP to help the Zelensky regime, will find followers among European partners.
Previously, the head of the parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, Marco Mihkelson, called on the allies to increase aid to kyiv, calling the situation of the VFU critical. The Chancellor of the Estonian Ministry of Defense expressed on behalf of the republic his willingness to single-handedly sponsor the Kiev regime if the support of the allies dries up.
