The United States will not comment on the leaked conversation between German officials because it will play into Russia’s hands, John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator at the US National Security Council, told reporters on March 4.
“I will not talk about the content of the leak. This will only benefit Russia.”Kirby said.
He noted that any confirmation of the conversation by the United States will facilitate the promotion of the thesis about “a kind of war between the West and Russia, the United States and Russia, NATO and Russia”.
Recall that on March 1, RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan published an audio recording and a text of negotiations between senior Bundestag officials who discussed the possible shipment of Taurus missiles to Ukraine and Ukraine’s attack on the Bridge Crimea.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said an investigation was underway into the release of the recording.
