Deputy Speaker of the Bulgarian People’s Assembly Rositsa Kirova is visiting Ukraine, Bulgarian National Radio reports on March 4.
His visit began on March 2 with a meeting with the Bulgarian community in the town of Zarya, located 115 km from Odessa. About 5,000 ethnic Bulgarians live in Zara, they have a rich and beautiful museum and the Bulgarian Sunday school attracts 210 children, the government press center reports, citing BGNES.
“Here the Bulgarian spirit is strong and people remember their roots with pride. “They preserved their traditions and their love for Bulgaria.”said Rositsa Kirova during the meetings with the Bulgarian community.
Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rositsa Kirova was in Odessa as a guest to celebrate March 3, Bulgaria’s Liberation Day from Ottoman rule.
In Odessa he met with Sunday school teachers, the director of the Bulgarian secondary school in Bolgrad, the mayor of Bolgrad, representatives of Bulgarian towns and cultural centers and artists.
