Ambassadors who refused to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov should be expelled from the country, Security Council Vice President Dmitry Medvedev said on social network X on March 5.
He also added that in addition to the expulsion of diplomats who have shown great dereliction of their duties, the level of diplomatic relations with the respective countries must also be reduced.
“These ambassadors should be expelled from Russia and the level of diplomatic relations should be reduced”he wrote.
Medvedev also emphasized that such a refusal to meet contradicts the very idea of the existence of diplomatic missions.
Recall that on Monday Sergei Lavrov announced that he had invited ambassadors from EU countries to talk before the elections, but two days before the planned meeting they refused.
