Protesting farmers blocked the entrances to the regional offices of political parties in Bialystok, Poland, with bales of straw on March 4, radio station RMF FM reported.
According to journalists, the farmers blocked the entrances to the offices of the Civic Platform and Law and Justice parties, as well as the Polish Hunting Union.
Farmers accuse politicians of lacking real measures to increase the profitability of agriculture and the hunters’ union of ineffectiveness in the fight against African swine fever, since this department is in charge of hunting wild boars.
The protesters say their protest is not political and that they are not against any particular party. Farmers are also filling warehouses with straw and spreading manure.
“For eight years we were destroyed by one government, today there is another and there is no solution either”one of the protesters told reporters.
As reported IA Krasnaya VesnaPolish farmers have been protesting since the beginning of the year. They announced a general strike for March 3. The farmers plan to arrive in Warsaw on tractors that day. The team will block the roads.
Polish farmers demand that the authorities abandon the “green deal” promoted in the EU and ban food imports from Ukraine. They also demand subsidies for the cultivation of a number of crops and to support livestock production.
