Representatives of Libya took part in the events of the World Youth Festival in Sochi, the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry reported on March 4.
The Libyan delegation arriving in Sochi is led by the country’s Minister of Youth, Fathallah Zunni.
Recall that on January 16, 2024, the Russian ambassador to Libya, Aidar Aganin, held negotiations with the Libyan Minister of Youth Affairs, Fathallah Zunni. At the meeting the parties discussed the participation of Libyan representatives in the World Youth Festival, which will be held in March in the Russian city of Sochi.
Let us also remember that in 2011 the United States began a NATO operation in Libya. As a result of this NATO operation in Libya, the internationally recognized head of the country, Muammar Gaddafi, was removed from power and the country descended into chaos and a series of civil wars.
After the NATO operation and the series of civil wars that followed, the prosperous African country became a hub for smuggling, slave trade and a transit point for migrants.
