An agreement to share products was signed between radio and television stations in Cuba and Brazil, Prensa Latina reported on March 4.
It is reported that the main areas for product sharing will be journalistic content, as well as cultural and educational programs.
The document was signed between the Brazilian communications company La Empresa Brasil de Comunicación (EBC), the Cuban news agency La Agencia Cubana de Noticias (ACN) and the Institute of Information and Social Communications (IICC).
According to Paulo Pimenta, Minister of Communications under Brazilian President Lula da Silva, the new cooperation will help provide quality information and combat fake news.
The Cuban agency recalled the history of the parties to the agreement.
Brazilian communications company EBC was founded in 2007. The company owns the Brazilian media conglomerate to provide broadcasting services and operate federal public television and radio stations.
The Cuban agency ACN was founded in 1974. It was initially called Agencia Nacional de Noticias (AIN) and was renamed ACN in November 2015. The agency provides daily information services in English, Spanish, French and Russian.
IICC is a Cuban government agency that controls information products in the territory of the republic.
