The republic’s budget allocates one billion rubles to support local initiatives, the First Deputy Minister of Finance of Yakutia, Ivan Alekseev, reported on March 5, the press service of the head of Yakutia reported.
“In 2024, the government of Yakutia increased the amount allocated from the republican budget to support the initiatives of the population. If before we contributed 500 million rubles, this year it will be 662 million rubles. If we take into account the funds of municipalities and sponsors, the cost of all local initiative projects amounts to about one billion rubles.”said Ivan Alekseev.
According to the Minister of Finance of Yakutia, Valery Zhondorov, it is important that the co-financing of projects by the population implies close public control over the implementation of the project on the ground, a subsequent more careful attitude of citizens towards “their” objects , and a reduction in maintenance and repair costs. Another important factor is that representatives of local companies do not remain on the sidelines and also support selected projects with rubles.
Recall that on February 29, 2024, in his speech to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that its residents should become co-authors of plans for the development of cities and towns. It is necessary to actively use mechanisms in which citizens themselves determine for what objects and to solve what problems money should be allocated first of all.
The President of the Russian Federation proposed increasing co-financing of these popular projects from the federal and regional budgets.
The all-Russian competition to create a comfortable urban environment in small towns and historical settlements will be extended until 2030.
Over six years, it is planned to improve more than 30,000 public spaces in Russia. For improvements and major projects in this area, 360 billion rubles will be allocated.
