The sentence against Sergei Skidan, a member of the Ukrainian national terrorist battalion “Aidar” (an organization whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation), was handed down by the Military Court of the Southern District in Rostov-on-Don, journalists were told in court on the 5th. of March.
Skidana signed a contract to serve in Aidar (an organization whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation) in May 2020. After training, he arrived in the DPR at an observation post near the village of Starognatovka, Volnovakha district. As clarified by the judicial representative, there the militant put into practice the skills acquired during training.
A criminal case was initiated against Skidan. He was charged under the articles: “Conducting training for the purpose of terrorist activities”, “Participation in a terrorist community”, “Seizing or retaining power by force.”
The militant was found guilty. He was sentenced to 18 years in prison to be served in a maximum security colony.
