Fernanda Santos, who traveled the world with her husband Vicente for five years, was raped by a group of seven men in India. The husband, chained to his neck with a knife, watched everything.
The rape happened this Friday evening when the attackers broke into the tent where the couple was camping in Dumka, in northern India, reports World. The woman was admitted to a hospital in Jharkhand.
According to the same Spanish newspaper, Fernanda, a Brazilian with Spanish citizenship, and Vicente from Valencia posted a video on Instagram explaining what happened to them. They say that in addition to rape, the group of attackers also robbed them. The video has since been removed from the social media site as police advised it to be removed.”“So as not to interfere with the investigation,” says another publication.
Indian authorities said three suspects have already been detained.
The couple embarked on a motorbike and bicycle adventure across South Asia, starting from Spain to Pakistan, then Bangladesh and finally India. The goal was to reach Nepal.
